"Here comes the plum season drizzle. It’s another Dragon Boat Festival in a remote town. Zongzi is wrapped and calamus is hung, and the scenery is still typical of Hubei." In order to carry forward Chinese culture, promote Sino-foreign exchanges and deepen international friendship, School of International Education held 2022 Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Experience Activity for overseas students on the arrival of the annual traditional Dragon Boat Festival.
Centering on three themes of "cultural heritage", "patriotism" and "epidemic prevention in summer", teachers organized international students to listen to the story of the Dragon Boat Festival, experience the making of sachets, and experience the charm of traditional Chinese festivals from a zero distance. Through audio-visual interpretation, teachers' explanation, interactive communication and other forms, this activity not only introduced festival customs such as eating zongzi and dragon boat racing to international students, but also explained their corresponding cultural connotation in simple terms.
This is the third Dragon Boat Festival after the outbreak of the COVID-19. On this important day of the ancient people's "disease elimination and epidemic prevention", with the expectation of an early return to normal life order, international students have personally made insect repellent sachets to bless their friends "good health in the Dragon Boat Festival".
